Headwaters School, a Pre-K through grade 12 independent day school serving over 500 students across its three campuses in Austin, TX, is seeking to hire two Part Time School Transportation Team Member for an immediate start. Regular hours for the morning shuttle shift are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 8:30 am. Regular hours for the afternoon shuttle shift are Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm. Occasional additional hours for field trips, athletics events, and campus special events throughout the year.

 

The Transportation Team Member is responsible for driving a bus and passenger van to transport students and staff daily between campuses as well as to special events and scheduled field trips. Must maintain a good driving record and CDL license.

 

Rate: $30.00 per hour

 

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must be able to pass a Fingerprint background check, physicals and drug screenings
  • Current driver’s license and clean driving record (minimum 5 years)
  • Must have a current CDL license with passenger and school bus endorsements
  • Must have a High School Diploma/GED/Equivalent
  • Must be able to complete training programs as stipulated by the School, including CPR and first aid
  • Experience working with children/students
  • Knowledge of safe driving practices & techniques
  • A positive attitude and dependability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to follow oral and written directions in English
  • Ability to interact with administrators, school staff and students in a professional manner
  • Ability to problem solve, collaborate, and work well with others
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to self-direct and effectively prioritize work
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 140 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb, kneel, reach, crawl, push, pull and twist the majority of the day

This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position.
