Headwaters School, a Pre-K through grade 12 independent day school serving 530 students across its three campuses in Austin, TX, is seeking a full time English and Outdoor Education Teacher in our Middle School for the 2025-2026 academic year.

This position will teach three sections of Middle School English courses, a journalism elective, and two sections of Middle School Outdoor Education/Movement courses. Candidates will also be prepared to participate in the life of the school, including, but not limited to supervision of lunch, teaching an elective, coaching, sponsoring a club, serving as an advisor, chaperoning trips, and other duties as assigned by the Middle School Director. This position reports directly to our Middle School Director.
Teaching Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required, degree in English preferred
- At least three years prior experience teaching in a Middle or High School setting
- Knowledge of and ability to teach any grade level of middle school English required
- Understanding of or experience with Outdoor Experiential Education
- Passion for working with middle school-aged children
- Valid Drivers’ License & ability to drive a 14 passenger van
- Experience developing curriculum
- Comfort with using the Google Suite of applications

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position and compensation is competitive for the greater Austin area.
